IPT - Image Processing Toolbox Performance and Benchmarks

IPT was built to provide fast and memory efficient processing
of large and small image data sets. The high-performance
IPT functions coupled with the
fast-executing O-Matrix
interpreter enable the analysis of large image data with much
greater performance than other toolbox or library solutions.
IPT uses several technologies to provide superior performance:
- Hardware optimized code
- Multithreaded code to utilize multi-core machines
- SIMD technology; MMX, SSE, SSE2, and SSE3
- Direct proceesing on integer data (8 bit, and 16 bit), and
single-precision floats.
